Mediation is an alternative dispute resolution process (ADR). It is an alternative to the traditional approach of lawyers and litigation.
In mediation, a professionally trained professional, known as a mediator, helps to facilitate a resolution between you and the other party involved in your dispute.
The mediator will remain neutral and unbiased at all times while helping both of you negotiate yourselves.
Mediation helps to settle various issues such as separation, divorce, civil litigation, landlord-tenant disputes, condominium disputes, and more.
Mediation is a voluntary process that both parties must agree to. The parties maintain total control over the resolution and what agreement comes out of mediation.
It is important that both parties enter mediation in good faith with a view to resolve their issues.
Mediation saves on average most people approximately 75% on legal fees. In addition, most mediation matters are resolved in under 9 months, as opposed to the 24 plus months it takes with litigation.

If you answer yes to any of the following questions, you may benefit from speaking with a mediator.
Communication Challenges: Are you and the other party struggling to communicate effectively, leading to misunderstandings and tension?
Conflict Escalation: Do disagreements between you and the other party often escalate into heated arguments or disputes that hinder progress?
Desire for Cooperative Solutions: Are you both open to working collaboratively to find fair and mutually agreeable solutions to your dispute?
Complex Financial Matters: Do you have intricate financial arrangements, assets, or debts that require careful consideration and division?
Child Custody and Parenting Issues: Are you seeking a child-centered approach to address custody arrangements, visitation schedules, and co-parenting matters?
Control Over Decision-Making: Do you want more control over the decisions that will shape your post-divorce life, rather than leaving them to the court's discretion?
Cost-Effectiveness: Are you looking for a cost-effective alternative to traditional litigation, with its potential for high legal fees and prolonged proceedings?
Preservation of Relationships: Do you value maintaining a respectful and cooperative relationship with the other party, especially when children are involved?
If you've answered yes to any of these pivotal questions, divorce mediation could be the ideal solution for you.
