Mediation Internships

Internship Program Overview:


This Family Mediation Internship Program is designed to provide aspiring mediators with the supervised practical experience required for accreditation with OAFM. The program offers hands-on learning, mentorship, and exposure to real-life mediation cases, ensuring interns develop the necessary skills to become Accredited Family Mediators (AccFM).


Interns will gain experience in parenting plans, financial mediation, conflict resolution techniques, and legal frameworks governing family mediation in Ontario.


Eligibility Requirements:


To enroll in this internship program, participants must have completed the following prerequisite training as required by OAFM:


  1. 21 hours of Domestic Violence and Power Imbalance Screening
  2. 60 hours of Mediation Training (Foundation and Advanced Mediation Courses)
  3. 21 hours of Family Law (if required)
  4. 21 hours of Family Relations (if required)


Applicants must provide proof of completion of these courses prior to commencing their internship.
